EMMANUEL WORSHIP CENTER HISTORY
A House of Prayer and Study

The beginning of our existence was the Living Word Evangelistic Association Seminars, which was conducted by Pastor Wellington Boone. In 1973, Pastor Wellington was ordained, began ministry, and later founded churches in Ettrick and Richmond, Virginia. In 1983, Pastor Boone incorporated the Living Word Evangelistic Association and a few years later changed the name to Wellington Boone Ministries.

Further, in 1983 Living Word Evangelistic Association moved to Ettrick, Virginia and was called The Church in Ettrick. As the church began to grow and expand Pastor Boone was led of the Lord to start a church in Richmond, Virginia. Some of the members left with Pastor Boone in support of establishing ministry in 1985.
During the same year Pastor Boone renamed The Church of Ettrick to Manna Christian Fellowship. He also, re-established new leadership ordaining Joseph Green as Pastor and Ruby Green as Co-Pastor of Manna Christian Fellowship.

Pastor Joseph P. Green began to attend Jewish Roots of Christianity in Austin TX, taught by Dr. Roy Blizzard and the “Jerusalem School of Synoptic Research”.
Pastors Joseph and Ruby Green embraced our Jewish roots and passed it on to the congregation that we might know our God and do exploits. A new way of studying and reading God's word was introduced and together the Pastors realized a change was needed from the New Creation Realities Teaching.

During the birth and establishment of this Hebraic congregation, Pastors Joseph and Ruby Green sought the Lord in daily special prayer for direction in their home during the hours of 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The y did not allow any interruption during this period. God answered their prayer, which led them to resources that would provide information, literature and teaching that would become the foundation stone. With the continuance of seeking The Most High for His will and direction to move forward, this congregation of believers was established as Emmanuel Worship Center.

Further, as a congregation this teaching of the Hebraic roots compelled this community of believers to study and to live as Yeshua lived. Under the auspices of Pastors Joseph and Ruby the congregation was learning to become disciples. As

lifelong learners, the Pastors studied with the Jerusalem School in 1988. In 1989 they started services at Petersburg YMCA for six months until a new location was found at 236 Grove Avenue, which is the present location of the ministry.

On July 3, 1996, our hearts were deeply saddened as our beloved mother, Pastor Ruby Green transitioned to her heavenly home. She imparted a spirit of excellence into the congregation. In 1997, the Ruby L. Green Scholarship Fund was established. Tire children's choir was renamed in her honor as the Ruby L. Green Children's Memorial Choir. Also, a Charity Fund was created in her name on January 3, 2015.

The following Spiritual Services and Basic Ministries were established. Spiritual Services included Prayer, Torah Studies, Hebrew Teaching, Shabbat Services, Men's Torah Study, Women’s Ministry, and Youth Torah Studies. Basic Ministries included Bible Teaching, Pastoral, Servant-Leader Training, Outreach, Evangelism, and Music/Choir. The Emmanuel Worship Center Biblical Institute was also established.

On January 13, 2013, Pastor Joseph P. Green married Maria C. Arcos from Panama, Central America. They would travel to Panama taking these teachings in the Spanish language, celebrating the Feast Days of the LORD. The first Passover in Panama was celebrated in the spring of 20I4, with a group of 35 members getting together on the Sabbaths and continues as of today.

As a faithful servant, Pastor Green continued to travel nationally and internationally to teach others about Yeshua. In his quest to reach more souls for the kingdom, the ministry began to have livestream services in 2017; using technology to help spread the gospel to the world.
